SUMMARY:
The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation is seeking a dependable, hardworking Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain our campus and ensure our buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and ready to support youth programs, community events, and daily operations.

RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of Foundation buildings and grounds.
- Clean classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, entrances, common areas, and event spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and perform general custodial duties.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and maintain waste disposal areas.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for meetings, athletic events, and community programs.
- Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, playgrounds, and other outdoor areas by removing litter and debris.
- Monitor custodial supply levels and notify the Facilities Manager when replenishment is needed.
- Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance, including changing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, assembling furniture, and completing basic repairs.
- Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate daily work logs.
- Assist with opening, securing, and closing Foundation facilities.
- Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, and facility emergencies promptly.
- Respond to urgent maintenance and cleaning needs as they arise.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to support Foundation programs and special events.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, building maintenance, or facilities experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to safely operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and similar equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs.
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders and work comfortably at heights when necessary.
- Move furniture and equipment for events and daily operations.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and facility needs.
