We provide programs to boost their reading and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education, so they do not lose what they learned during the school year. We help them achieve the drive to do their best in school and improve their academic performance.
We also teach community skills, leadership skills, and decision-making. We set up a student government, so they to have a voice in our decisions within the program. They participate in many extracurricular activities such as dance, recreational sports, and computer skills.
Campers get a healthy breakfast, lunch and snack each day.
Most importantly, they receive the Winning in Life curriculum, which teaches them the 14 principles that helped make Jackie Joyner-Kersee become one of the best female athletes of all time. Kids in Summer Camp are exposed to these prinicples each day, and build a community with other kids who are working toward the same goals.
In Summer Camp, we partner with other organizations to provide enrichment activities, such as Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts, United States Tennis Association, PGA of America. We also take the kids on six field trips each summer.
