A $60,000 grant from Walmart funds a designed plan which concentrates on the importance of nutrition and exercise. The focus is smart food choices and healthy eating. Meals and snacks are made available for 60 children and youth each weekend to take home.

An indoor gardening system lets participants grow and prepare food. A statistic worth noting: 90 percent of those enrolled in the JJK After-School Program,  their parents and guardians report heightened attention to buying nutritious food.
